Queeny Park
Location: Pretty close to the center of St. Louis County.
Distance: Network of trails lets you put together a ride of 5 to 20 miles.
Queeny Park is not a mountain biking mecca. When riding Queeny, you need to be on the look out for walkers (with and without dogs), joggers, and an occasional horse.
Queeny's big benefit is that it sheds water like a duck. This makes it nice if you want to ride the day after a rain. It is also a nice place to ride on warm winter days when other St. Louis County trails would be too moist from melted snow to ride.
Most of the trails are wide double track. There is a way to loop around the entire perimeter that will put you on pavement for about 1.5 miles. But some of the funnest sections are in the middle of the park where the trails are fairly hilly. There is a nice, long, 30MPH plus descent that will have you grinning from ear to ear.
