Berryman Trail
Location: The trail is in a portion of the Mark Twain National Forest. To reach the trail from St. Louis, take Highway 44 south, exit at Bourbon and take N east to W, take W south to the Brazil Creek trail head. The Berryman trail head is closer to Potosi. But I usually start at Brazil Creek, so this discussion will assume you are too.
Distance: 25 mile loop.
The Berryman is really the grand-daddy of all Missouri trails. Pack plenty of food, water, extra tubes, and a multi-tool -- you really don't want to walk back to the car. From the Brazil Creek trail head, you'll head south. It is close to 10 miles to the Berryman trail head. This is a good place to get off your bike for a minute and have an energy bar. The next major landmark that you'll hit will be a natural spring at around 16 miles.
